Welcome to Standout Teen
A 4-week online course to help teens know themselves, speak up, and show up with confidence.
What is Stand Out Teen?
An online and live, small-group experience designed to give teens something they are getting less of in everyday life: real practice.
What We’ll Practice
Stand Out Teen will include a combination of self-discovery, conversation and actual real-time practice.
We’ll work on things like:
understanding personal values
recognizing strengths and growth areas
figuring out what environments bring out their best
introducing themselves and other people
making conversation and asking good questions
communicating comfortably with adults
giving and receiving feedback
interview preparation
advocating for themselves
handling uncomfortable or awkward situations
owning mistakes
building confidence through action

This Is Not About “Fixing” Your Teen.
And it is definitely not about turning them into the loudest, most outgoing or most impressive person in the room.
I’m an introvert myself.
Standing out isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s actually the opposite.
The more a teen understands who they are — what they value, what they’re naturally good at, what challenges them, and what environments bring out their best — the less they have to perform or try to fit themselves into the wrong places.
Confidence becomes much less mysterious when you know yourself.
The goal of Stand Out Teen is to help teens become more themselves, while also building the human skills that will help them navigate the world confidently.
Standout with the skills of…
CONNECTION
Learn how to make people feel seen, build stronger relationships, and feel more comfortable with others.
COMMUNICATION
Practice expressing yourself clearly, asking good questions, and navigating real-world conversations.
CONFIDENCE
Build the self-trust to speak up, try new things, and handle uncomfortable moments.
Why I Created Stand Out Teen
I’ve spent years coaching adults, leading teams, hiring employees and raising my own kids.
And one thing keeps showing up.
Many of the adults I work with are trying to figure out at 35, 45 or 55 who they actually are.
What do I value?
What kind of work fits me?
Why does this environment drain me?
Why do I keep ending up in relationships that don’t work?
What am I actually good at?
What does success even mean to me?
Imagine beginning that work as a teenager.
That doesn’t mean having life figured out at 16..
It means learning how to pay attention to themselves and their own patterns.
It’s all about treating experiences (good and bad) as helpful information.
This work allows them to build a life around who they actually are instead of who they
think they are supposed to be.
That is a HUGE head start! And I’m excited to help facilitate it.
Hi, I’m Jena
